Swisscom Subsidiary Buys VC-Backed Swapcom

Sicap, a subsidiary of Swisscom Mobile, said Friday that it acquired French mobilephone management software firm Swapcom for an undisclosed amount. Swapcom was founded in 1999 and is backed by Spef Venture, Iris Capital Management, and Banque de Vizille.

It offers three solutions that mobile netowork operators use to manage, deliver content to, and configure their customers' mobilephones. The combined company will have a total of 190 employees with annual sales of about SFr66M.
