NDS Buy Hugo TV Troll Creator
NDS, the pay TV technology provider, has acquired Denmark's ITE (Interactive Television Entertainment) for an undisclosed amount. ITE has been in business since 1988, and its claim to fame is an interactive TV show called Hugo the TV Troll, for which it has also developed games that run on Nintendo, PC, and Playstations.
NDS has built its business on selling conditional access systems and middleware into the pay TV market, but we note that its been announcing some interactive TV contract wins, mainly cartoon connected games, betting, and sports games.
