French Chip Tool Co Grows With Acquisition

evelogo.png
EVE, a French venture-backed developer of tools for chip companies, with a strong California presence, has acquired a Silicon Valley startup, Tharas, for an undisclosed amount. EE Times has details on the deal, which looks to have been opportunistic for EVE. It also reports that EVE is generating about $20M in sales and will employ 80 post-acquisiton.

Its backers include 3i, Auriga Partners, and Rothschild, all with representatives on the board. Looks like the VCs are doing their jobs on this one, enabling the startup to grow and go international.
