Success In Mobile TV Draws VCs To UK-Startup Player X

UK mobile content company Player X has raised about $10M to grow the business. Long Acre Parnters, a media investment specialist, and Nordic Venture Partners reached across borders to co-invest with Arts Alliance, the early investor in UK mobile content company Player X.
The startup also counts sports rights company Bullion International, a company founded by Fox Kids Europe founder Ynon Kreiz, as an investor in its 2005 round.

According to the Inquirer, the startup got its start with mobile games but it raised the capital on the back of success with its Geek TV channel that runs on the higher speed cellular networks.

We checked it out. Geek TV makes short video clips and cartoons that appeal to a youngish, mainly male audience, e.g. women lifting their T-shirts for money, clips that poke fun at Bluetooth headset wearers, as well featuring super short vides sent in by users.
