GoIP International has raised €2M from Danish venture fund Via Ventures, a newcomer to the European VC market and backed by ATP, a well-known Danish pension fund.

The startup develops private label VoIP systems and solutions for operators and ISPs that want to offer Voice over IP services to either the consumer or business markets. It takes care of the billing, gateways, network management, and so on for its customers.

GoIP was founded in 2004 by Ivan Solvason and Stig Skaugvoll, who has held a number of executive positions in the international telecom industry. Solvason was behind the a “phone in” Interactive Television game show called “Hugo”, which he sold to a Danish VC, which in turn sold it to NDS last year. Solvason said he grew Hugo sales to €100M, before selling it.
