French eShop Builder Zlio Goes For US Growth

zlio.png
A few months ago we tried out Zlio, an very easy to use e-shop building tool, and ever since its been sending us email updates, so many that we started to ignore 'em, with the result that your a:c euro reporter missed the news earlier this month that it was expanding into the US.

In the meantime, ReadWrite Web, a popular US blog, picked up the news and has written a review that gives a good idea of what makes Zlio unique.

Zlio.com belongs to Centralcast, a French company founded in late 2005 by Jeremie Berrebi. He's an experienced entrepreneur whose last venture was called Net2one.com, an online press review service, which was acquired by Presse Plus group in April 2004 (and since acquired by TNS Secodip). Another Zlio and Net2One co-founder, Jean Guetta, recently sold his company EMME, an online retailer of interactive and multimedia titles, to Avanquest Software for €40M.

As far as we can see, Zlio itself has not raised venture capital, although Berrebi seems to be pretty well acquainted with several VCs in France, if his blog is anything to go by.
