iTouch Acquired for $191M
Boungiorno, the Italian digital media and mobile content company, has acquired iTouch for $191M. That price tag means it is ending the low-budget buying spree that it has been on lately.
The deal comes a few months after iTouch’s management bought itself back from the Japanese mobile content firm For-Side, for an estimated $100 million, reports MocoNews.
As Vecosys sees it:
The deal puts Buongiorno in the drivers seat in the third party market for mobile information services, with some 1100 staff over 20 countries, serving 40 countries with their portfolio. While most networks offer their own portals and services, only a handful can be mentioned on the first menu or screen – iTouch works with their partners to make sure they can run and profit from their own services, while leveraging their reach and readership to market the services.
