Asetek Gives HP The Chill Factor

We got the news today that Asetek's thermal management hardware is factory-sealed into the new HP Blackbird 002, a new performance engine for gamers.
We don't usually cover market wins - it would be impossible given our resources and the number of startups we cover, but this Danish one is cool, literally.
Besides, we like to keep track of the times a VC predicts something and it comes true. We covered the startup's first round back in 2005 when one of the general partners at Northzone told this reporter that Asetek would get its liquid cooling tech built into new PCs, explaining that the cooling systems were the only thing that had increased in price over time -- and that Asetek was poised to make it a cheaper and yet streamlined proposition.

HP Gives Asetek Some Space
It seemed a tall order at the time not only because most PC manufacturers aren't know for being incredibly innovative, but also because Asetek's smallest unit about to be launched was the size of a coffee mug. Looking at the inside of that Blackbird we can see it is progressing at a clip.
There is more than a hint in today's statement from Asetek that it is readying for more of this kind of thing, as it has designs ready to support cooling Intel and AMD, as well as NVIDIA and ATI processing units.
