Entellium - Profile

entellium.gif

HQ: Seattle, WA with development done in Malaysia. Moved HQ from Malaysia to Seattle in May 2004.

Founded: 2000

Management: Paul Johnston is CEO and Chief Product officer. He hails from Belfast, Ireland, worked as an Apple Computer Sales Manager, and has been living in Asia for a decade where he got started with Entellium.

Investors: In September 2004, Ignition Venture Partners did a $4M, Series A. Seed Funding was provided by Knight Asian Investments.

Business Model: Hosted CRM targeting smaller businesses with low costs and a no contract approach. Product suite includes sales force automation, customer care; and marketing campaign management; all available as modules for separate purchases. Fees ranging from $10-$67, compared to upwards of $120 for Salesforce.com and others.

Competitors: Salesforce.com, Frontrange Software (Goldmine), Best Software (Act), Salesnet, NetSuite, Siebel Upshot.

Dirt: We think this is a winner. Sure the field is crowded, but Salesforce and others do a lousy job of dealing with small businesses. Entellium started out and continues to operate lean and hungry.
