Voters Unite!
Kerry or Bush... Bush or Kerry... New York City voters may be split over their choice for President, but they were deeply united on one point this morning at the Gramercy Park polling station: our voting booths are a joke! The particular booth on display in Gramercy Park (yes, there was a lone booth for a polling station in the middle of Manhattan) looked like it might have figured prominently when George Washington squared off against John Adams back in 1789. A long line stretched around the block. The poll station workers looked like they'd been plucked from the local drunk tank.

Clearly, there's not much money to be made in creating new voting booth technologies, but we're pleading with any wildly rich, bored geeks to give it a try. The scene at Gramercy Park was embarassing... dare we say, un-American?
