HQ: Bloombsbury, NJ Founded: 2001 Management: CEO Mark Downing is a Brit who formerly ran marketing for Micrel. Founders Ashraf Lotfi, Ph.D. and William Troutman, Ph.D. previously led power management R&D at Bell Labs. Investors: In December 2004, Enpirion did a $17M round led by RRE Ventures and Columbia Capital with Intel Capital and the Series A investors Canaan Partners and SAS Investors. Series A was $8M in January 2003. Business Model: Fabless semiconductor outfit focused on power supply for the new generation of smaller electronic products. Analysts say that Enpirion products reduce real-estate requirements and part count by more than half, while slashing development costs and time-to-market. It's Small!
