Shutterfly Filing for IPO - An a:c Exclusive

The a:c has it on high authority that Internet photo service Shutterfly is filing to go public with Goldman Sachs. People may forget who the initial backer of Shutterfly was - none other than SGI/Netscape/Healtheon founder and subject of the bestseller The New New thing - Jim Clark. Shutterfly was founded in 1999 so Clark and his co-founders Jayne Spiegelman, Dan Baum and Eva Manolis have moved on. Most recently, the company has hired Jeff Housenbold, an exec from eBay who is being touted as "a young wiz". Shutterfly claims to have over 1 million customers and to have experienced 240% revenue growth over the past two years.
