Indeed.com - Profile
HQ: Stamford, CT
Founded: 2005
Management: Indeed was founded by Paul Forster and Rony Kahan who previously developed the finance jobs site JobsintheMoney.com, which they sold to Financial News in 2003.
Investors: To date, the company has been bootstrapped with seed financing from the founders.
Business Model: Indeed is a jobs aggregerator that indexes more than 500 sites including Monster.com and Hotjobs. The company is powering job search on other sites, starting with Clusty.com and Info.com. Users can get create feeds such as software engineer - Sacramento - part time, then get feeds via RSS or email. Rather than charge subscriptions as other job sites do, Indeed.com earns its revenue via advertising. The model has worked well for other sectors, most notably travel.
Competition: Ziggs.com, Oodle.com, workzoo.com, Simplyhired, Work.com.
Dirt: Indeed seems to have done most everything right so far. We quibble with the brand name - Indeed.com - why not Frankly.com or InPointOfFact.com. But the functionality is great.

Edmonton dominated the Carolina Hurricanes on Saturday night and the 4-0 margin in Game 6 makes it hard to imagine the Oilers not hoisting hockey's Holy Grail above their heads in less than 48 hours. And it would not come as any shock to see defenseman Chris Pronger, who had another 31-minute night, take the honors for the Conn Smythe Trophy as the playoff MVP.
