Leverage Software - Profile
HQ: San Francisco, CA
Founded: May 2003
Management: Mike Walsh is CEO and founder. He was co-founder and VP of Sales at mvion and VP of Sales for ProjectArena.
Investors: In May 2005, Leverage raised $6M in series A financing from CNET founder and Salesforce.com investor Halsey Minor through his OnDemand Venture Capital Fund. An additional investor is John Stanton who was the founder and president of Lender's Credit, a mortgage credit reporting company that he sold.
Business Model: The company has developed a peer-to-peer social networking platform for enterprises, built on an ASP model. Leverage has built modules for Salesforce.com and Siebel CRM OnDemand. The primary value prop is accelerating the sales process.
Competitors: Spoke Software, Visible Path.
Dirt: We can certainly imagine companies testing such software, but it's a stretch to believe that it will be satisfying. Companies in this sector are working hard to make science from the art of the sales process. The company's mission is to help salespeople avoid the 'dreaded cold call.' But if a product is good and the salesperson is good, the cold call should be nothing to fear.

Edmonton dominated the Carolina Hurricanes on Saturday night and the 4-0 margin in Game 6 makes it hard to imagine the Oilers not hoisting hockey's Holy Grail above their heads in less than 48 hours. And it would not come as any shock to see defenseman Chris Pronger, who had another 31-minute night, take the honors for the Conn Smythe Trophy as the playoff MVP.
