The a:c on M.I.T. Tech Review - The Business Of Blogging

As summarized by PaidContent.org, this story is "A detailed story/profile of Weblogs Inc, the blogging media company run by Jason Calacanis. Some good pointers of how Jason and Brian Alvey went about it... Also, some good figures: blogger in his network make anywhere from $100 to $3,000 a month, with the average falling between $500 and $600. The majority of the company's revenues come from direct ads, which currently command a CPM rate (cost per 1,000 impressions) of between $4 and $12, whereas network ads generate between $1 and $4 CPM. Weblogs Inc. generates more than $1,000 per day from Google AdSense alone and has recently surged as high as $2,000. Maintaining that average would translate to $730,000 in revenue in a year.

Edmonton dominated the Carolina Hurricanes on Saturday night and the 4-0 margin in Game 6 makes it hard to imagine the Oilers not hoisting hockey's Holy Grail above their heads in less than 48 hours.
