Management: CEO Tom Fristoe was VP of Sales and Marketing for Euphonix, a maker of audio mixing consoles, and was VP of Sales and Marketing for Specular, a developer of 3D design and animation software systems.

Investors: In August 2005, TenToe raised $ 7.2M in Series B financing from Menlo Ventures. Previous investors were Tech Coast Angels of California .

Business Model: TenToe is indeed targeting a hairy issue. How do you get product information by sku to your marketing and sales reps, given the ever-expanding nature of our products as service world? The issue is exacerbated by online channels where a manufacturer needs to keep his sku marketing information updated to dozens of e-commerce sites that sell his products. Tentoe sells primarily to consumer electronics and computer hardware vendors and its two products allow them to more easily distribute price lists, digital brochures, interactive/rich media, and other product data to retail partners. The other proudct, SKU Finder, enables retailers to locate marketing content through a customizable web portal interface.

Competitors: Nobody apparent.

Dirt: We like what these guys are doing. E-commerce continues to grow and the software vendors that tie manufacturer to Web site are extremely weak.
