Much has been made about Apple Computers' stock riding the popularity of iPod and iTunes. But visit stores that retail iPods and you will see that a dozen or more private companies are making a killing from iPod accessories.

Nashville, TN-based Griffin Technology has quitely been making accessories for Apple computers for years. Now it is in the big leagues selling a range of accesories for the iPod inluding recorders, charger, cases, speakers, connectors. Think that Apple has been innovating rapidly? The case can be made that Griffin is one-upping Apple.

Other iPod beneficiaries include Monster Cable, ezGear, XtremeMac, Matias Products.

Edmonton dominated the Carolina Hurricanes on Saturday night and the 4-0 margin in Game 6 makes it hard to imagine the Oilers not hoisting hockey's Holy Grail above their heads in less than 48 hours. And it would not come as any shock to see defenseman Chris Pronger, who had another 31-minute night, take the honors for the Conn Smythe Trophy as the playoff MVP.
