The Disaster Shakes VCs & Their Market Confidence
Fred Wilson gives voice to what a lot of people are thinking – venture capital has been making steady progress and might have been on the verge of some big payoffs, but it might be coming to an end.
Just prior to the disaster in the Deep South, we at the a:c had begun writing a Note to Wall Street asking why there is no tech IPO market. The tech M&A market has been strong and there are a huge number of strong, profitable tech companies with no exit doors except for M&A. It may be now that the tech IPO market is closed even longer - including the Vonage IPO - if indeed we are sitting on the cusp of a recession.
