B2.0 Influenced By Our Post
Back in March, the a:c ran a pair of stories about the return of eye-ball valuations. As a case study, we made our best guess and valued Gawker Media at $274M, based on a $9.64 per head valuation. The Gawker people pushed back saying that we had their head-count wrong so we devalued the company to $68.5M.
Readers told us they liked the post, warts and all. Eight months later, Biz 2.0 runs the same story about headcount valuations, valuing Gawker at $76M or $38 per head. Where is the love? Hey Om, we'll take half your payout or a stash of single malt, whatever is worth more.

B2.0 - at least have the common courtesy of a reach-around when you are lifting our proprietary methodology.
