Norway's Ignis Buys Half of Korea's Fi-ra for $7M

Its 14°F in Oslo, Norway today and it feels like 4°F - good weather for some M&A. Norway, based Ignis has signed on to acquire 50.1% of the shares in Fi-ra Photonics in Korea for $7M. Fi-ra makes optical components and has sales of approximately $4M in 2005. Strong growth in the fiber-optics markets is expected to generate more than a doubling of sales in 2006.
