Bollywood + Cell Phones = Mauj

Intel and Sequoia have joined a $10M investment in Indian ringtone, mobile game and mobile media company Mauj Mobile. The company says it develops over 20 original titles every month. MAUJ has about 110 people in its offices in Mumbai, Dubai, London, and New York.

MAUJ is the wireless division of the People Group, which owns other Indian Internet companies such as Shaadi.com and Fropper.com as well as Bollywood’s People Pictures. The company was founded by Anupam Mittal in 1997 and claims that it has consistently grown by over 100% each year.
