Shining Light On Kleiner's Voice Stealth Co.

projectedgar.jpg

An enterprising a:c mole tips us off to the code-name for a Kleiner-Perkins backed startup that we had posted on - it is now called ProjectEdgar. We previously discovered through a regulatory filing that a company called VoiceVault had raised $3M in Series A funding from Kleiner and that Randy Komisar had joined the board. We had also learned that the startup was led by two Virgin Electronics honchos - Greg Woock, CEO, and Joe Sipher, SVP. Woock was VP of sales at Handspring, while Sipher was VP of marketing at Handspring.

Our mole spotted Joe Sipher on LinkedIn where he explains that he is now with a company called ProjectEdgar. Says his LinkedIn profile: "Our mission is to help people use their voice to communicate in new and remarkably convenient ways. If you can spell VoiceXML, HTML, AJAX, Flash, PHP, or MySQL, we're hiring. Kleiner Perkins' web site lists a number of job searches for the startup.
