MyNewPlace Gets Funding For Spring Launch

my-new-place-logo.gif

San Francisco-based MyNewPlace has just raised $8M in Series A funding, says PE Wire. The company says it will be launching this Spring. It will be an Internet listing service for apartment building leasing. Backers are led by Trinity Ventures with United Dominion Realty Trust (NYSE: UDR), Essex Property Trust (NYSE: ESS), Marcus & Millichap Venture Partners, ConAm Management, The Lane Company and Cowboy Properties.

John Helm is Founder and CEO - he was the founding CEO of AllApartments/SpringStreet, which became the number one apartment rental and site and was bought by Homestore (NASDAQ: HOMS) in 1999.

Given the team's experience and investors who have big footprints in rentals, we expect this to become big shakes.

Mynewplace... They promised me a check for finding the apt thru them. I did ... a year ago. I have yet to receive this so called check.. BUT.. i receive SEVERAL emails all the time telling me how it's in Billed status. LOL.
The apt people do not affiliate with mynewplace and this is bogus.
