Canadian Blog Network B5 Media Looking for VC Backers

b5.png

It will be interesting to see if B5 succeeds in its endeavor to raise funding. Rival Creative Weblogging was able to raise funding so we suspect B5 has a shot. The blog network has managed to launch a large number of blogs that cover tech, entertainment, sports and more. None of the blogs is a break-out leader like Weblogs Inc. had with Engadget.

The elevator pitch must focus on the number of blogs and bloggers and the potential for its network effect. We expect VCs might provide resistance on the lack of media experience of the team as well as its technology differentiation.

Thanks for the links and commentary :)

We aren't really that worried about the lack of media experience, though it is certainly one of the reasons to look at funding (to bring that in).

Our strengths are technological, SEO and creating solid communities with fantastic writers. That's something each of us have experience in (more than 25 years combined), and that is what we're leveraging into this "media" business.

Thanks again.
