Sequoia Goes For Alcohol-based Fuel Cells

oorjalogo.gifMenlo Park-based Oorja has raised $5.52M in Series A funding led by Sequoia Capital. The stealth-mode start-up is developing alcohol-based fuel cells.

Oorja's founder is Dr. Sanjiv Malhotra, who most recently was VP at DCH Technology [Amex: DCH], a manufacturer of hydrogen fuel cells sensors. Dr. Malhotra has been busy of late on the nano-technology fuel speaking circuit.
