Platform Learning Gets an 'F' In Start-up Skills

NYC-based Platform Learning - tutoring services - has filed for Chapter 11. It had raised over $20M in VC funding since its 2003 inception, from Ascend Venture Group, Capital Resource Partners, New York City Investment Fund, Quad Ventures and AlpInvest Partners. Most recently, it raised a $19M mezzanine round in August 2004,

The Chairman and CEO of Platform Learning is Eugene Wade who was was EVP for Development at Edison Schools. He was also at one time a bankruptcy attorney.
