DFJ Gotham Goes with Guidster + $3M
NYC-based Guidester seems like it has a smart business model. It has now raised a $3M first round led by Draper Fisher Jurvetson Gotham Ventures (DFJ Gotham) with co-investors Milestone Venture Partners and Wheatley Partners. Guidester is an ad-supported paid search application. It offers software widgets for online retailers and those widgets are supported by advertisers. Clients include Circuit City, CompUSA, TigerDirect, Ritz Camera, and Newegg.

The start-up was founded in 2000 - then called Decidia - by John Chin. Prior to founding Guidester, Chin was the managing director at Real Estate Online.
