Travel Community's Gusto Funded, But Has A Long Road
Gusto, out of Springfield, MO is a community-based travel website that has raised $3M in VC funding from DHST LLC plus an additional $1M from CEO Jeff Wasson. He was formerly CEO of the travel eCommerce Web site TravelNow. Gusto is not about buying tickets but talking and showing pictures about your trip.
Granted Gusto is in beta, but it it does not currently strike us that the site is special. Travel community is getting particularly competitive so Gusto will have to come up with functionality that stands out to get traffic and get a return on investment.
