- Euro VC Max Bleyleben at Kennet Ventures says he wants to invest in owner-funded startups. For every venture-backed Skype or Kelkoo, there’s a bootstrapped uSwitch or Friends Reunited, he says. All four represent so-called homerun exits for Europe.

- Norway's Paradial, a maker of VoIP, videoconferencing and IM software has signed up with Kistefos Venture Capital for a $3.5M round of investment to expand.

- Technology Crossover Ventures is buying a minority stake in bank-owned, London-based foreign exchange trading portal FXall for $77.5M.

- Also in Forex, Cognotec's founder bought his firm back from venture backer Softbank for $33M -- a much lower price than the Japanese company paid for its stakes acquired in 1999 and 2000.

- The buzz meter on the IPO Market In Europe is on full blast.

- German memory chipmaker Qimonda has confirmed it will float on the NYSE and plans to raise a he-man-sized $1.3B.

- 3i-backed Carbonite says it has signed an agreement with Microsoft to bundle a year of free access to its online backup service with Microsoft Money 2007.

- Skype is going to have net sales of $50M this year - after paying telecoms suppliers but before paying operational expenses - on a total of $200M in revenues this year.

- Euro Venture Quiz Answered: Name the former European Venture Capital Association (EVCA) chairman, once a big supporter of Europe's tech venture market, now re-located to Hong Kong. The name we were looking for was Max Burger Calderon of Apax Partners.

- Nomad has raised £8M in Series A funding led by Amadeus Capital Partners with T-Mobile Ventures.
