SalesForce.com Does Google With Buyout of Kieden

SalesForce AppExchange, which allows 3rd parties to plug-in to Salesforce, has been a hit for SalesForce's functionality. One hit was so big SalesForce has bought the maker of the Salesforce plug-in.

Salesforce.com is entering the world of search engine marketing with the acquisition of Kieden. Kieden sells search marketing capabilities that enable Salesforce.com users to build and manage search engine marketing campaigns on Google. The cost is $300 a month per customer.

San Francisco-based Kieden had only 4 employees when it was bought. Does this mean that SalesForce will buy other AppExchange start-ups. We wouldn't count it out. Its like having a farm system where they can call up promising young guns.
