Stanford Poll Geeks Funded: Polimetrix
![]()
Days before November's mid-term elections, Polimetrix nailed the outcome:
"The Senate: A 50/50 split is more likely than Democratic Control."
"74.5% probability of the Democrats winning Montana and a 78.0% probability of winning Rhode Island."
Palo Alto-based Polimetrix has now secured $4.53M of an $8.13M Series A round led by Alloy Ventures, says PE Wire. Founded in 2004 by Stanford Professor Douglas Rivers, the idea is to marry serious political polling techniques with the Internet, via its PollingPoint website. Polimetrix says it conducted over 2M interviews in 2004. PollingPoint also conducts surveys among its opt-in panelists via e-mail.
