iLike/GarageBand Take $13.3M Investment From Ticketmaster

TicketMaster has made a $13.3M strategic investment in in iLike for 25% of the company, says TechCrunch. The site expains that it is a tremendous valuation for a site that was only uanched a few months back. However, iLike sprung from GarageBand, a music service that was launched ages ago and that seems to have 9 lives.

iLike has an iTunes collaborate filtering plugin that analyzes what music you listen to and recommends new tunes. iLike probably competes most directly with the super popular site LastFM. Previous investors in GarageBand include Khosla Ventures and Bob Pittman.The company is run by twin brothers Ali and Hadi Partovi. Ali co-founded LinkExchange, which was acquired by Microsoft in 1998. Hadi was previously GM at MSN and co-founded Tellme Networks.
