Yahoo's YouTube Me Too. Reports on Metacafe Sale of $200M
Back in the day Yahoo spent over $1B on broadcast.com so why not ante up just $200M for MetaCafe. Reports out of Israel are that some company stateside is consumating a $200M buy-out of MetaCafe today. MetaCafe is an Israeli born start-up with offices in Palo Alto raised $15M in funding from Benchmark Capital and Accel Partners last July. We have profiled MetaCafe over the Summer and found that indeed it has impressive traffic and nice traffic, however, it does seem to rely on porno which might make it difficult for Yahoo to swollow.
