ETF Raises $10M For Exchange Traded Commodities

etfs_logo.gif
Online Forex companies have been hot and now we are seeing an investment into an online commodities exchange.

SF-based ETF Securities had raised a $10M from FTVentures, a private equity firm with 37 financial institutions as its limited partners. ETF got it start in Europe on exchages in the UK, The Netherlands and Germany by creating indexes of commodity groups like soy beans and pork bellies. Surprisingly these did not exist and you had to be a pro in the Chicago pits to play this game.

ETF makes money through a standard 0.49% management fee per annum.
