LA's Ripple Gets Ripped With $5M For Out of Home Digital Ad Network

There seems to be no end to the number of outdoor ad networks getting funded. Ripple has secured $5M in a first round of capital funding from Trinity Ventures and Draper Fisher Jurveston.
The startup claims it broadcasts on HD screens in over 375 Southern California and Hawaii retail locations, Ripple's programming is seen by over 10M viewers each month. Previously known as ActiveMaps, Ripple's distribution partners include Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf, Diedrich Coffee, Jiffy Lube, CBS Outdoor, Arden Realty, Kilroy Realty and G&L Realty. Its Media partners include ESPN, E! Entertainment, Yahoo!, CBS and Clear Channel.
The company was co-founded by former Yahoo! VP Ali Diab, who we assume picked up the tab for the first plasma screens.
