Snail Mail Screener Document Command Raises $3.25M

Document Command out of Kirkland, WA closed a $3.25M round. Founded in 2004, the company, receives postal mail for customers, scanning envelopes so customers can view their mail online and instruct Document Command whether to save, forward or shred it.

The biz was designed for people who travel a lot, have second homes or live abroad, Document Command's service has drawn 500 customers who pay anywhere from $12 to $50 per month. Document Command says it has won some corporate customers as well. The company employs disabled veterans with security clearance to handle scanning.

Document Command's Ron Wiener was a VC of late and was previously founder of PrintBid.com, which he sold along with PaperDeals.com for about $24M in 1999. He also co-founded SnapNames.
