Another Hearing Aid Maker: Zounds Raises $25M

Baby-boomers entering the golden years have created a nice market for better hearing ads. Last month, Boulder, CO's Otologics raised $6M. It differentes itself on its low profile. Today Mesa, AZ-based hearing-aid maker, has raised $25M in Series A, according to PEWire. Funding comes from TWJ Opportunity Fund and Signature Capital.

Zounds sets itself apart by a lower price $2,500 each, compared to $4000 apiece for other hearing aids. And its says it has been abe to reduce background noise and make it easier to talk on the phone.
