Zlango Raises $12M For Emoticon Language

Zlango, an Israel-based developer of an icon-based language for Web and mobile messaging, has raised $12M in its 1st-round of funding from Benchmark Capital and Accel Partners. Zlango licences its language to mobile operators, which is how we assume it makes money.

Zlango is made up of over 200 icons that can express words, concepts or feelings.
