Classifieds Publisher Oodle Raises $11M
The online classifieds marketing is nothing if not competitive. Oodle goes mano a mano not only with CraigsList and eBay but also: Vast, Trulia, Propsmart, Jobster, Simly Hired, Backpage, Edgeio, Yahoo Classifieds, Google Base, Windows Live Expo, Indeed, Rent.com, Cars.com, Apartments.com and many more.
Oodle has garner strong reviews and has grown via partnerships with newspapers like the San Diego Tribune (it hired a newspaper guy to run BD). The company has also made an early move into Europe with partnerships there.
San Mateo's Oodle has raised $11M in 2nd-round funding led by Jafco Ventures was joined by return backers Greylock Partners and Redpoint Ventures. The company raised a $5M Series A round last May. The company is led by Craig Donato, who was CEO of the now hot Grand Central, which he left in July 2003.
