Domain Landlord Internet REIT Takes $38M

Among the treasure trove of domains owned by Internet Reit are its more than 30 addresses that are misspellings of Google, including Googlb.com. The company then gets paid by Google for running Adsense on these domains. All told, it owns 400K domain names and a growing number of overseas addresses,

Revenues on parked pages that amount to $600M to $1B in annual advertising spending by marketers, according to various analyst estimates.

Having raised $20M in Series A, Internet REIT has returned for Series B at $38M from Perot Investments (as in Ross Perot) and Maveron Investments (as in Starbucks), says PE Wire. Internet REIT owns several Starbucks typos including: astarbucks.com starbuckds.com and Starburcks.com.
