O'Reilly AlphaTech says it has invested in a San Diego-based WiFi-run consumer product called Chumby. The product is not yet available for purchase. But widgets have been created for chumby that will deliver these features: Digital clock, flickr photo viewer, Google News and Calendar, NOAA weather, moon phase, stock quotes and daily horoscope.

The company is run by Steve Tomlin who was a Vice President of America Online, CEO of PersonaLogic, (sold to AOL in 1998), and established and ran the initial e-commerce business for QVC.
