SoftTech Celebrates 3rd Anniversary Of Consumer Web Investments

Conventional wisdom is that you are either B2B or B2C. VC Jeff Clavier made the jump from making B2B investments for SAP to making consumer Web investments 3 years ago, and in a post today he celebrates the anniversary of his consumer investments.

SoftTech seems to have had a few clear success stories. Truveo and Userplane were bought by AOL, we believe at profitable valuations and MyBlogLog was bought by Yahoo. The future looks bright for Dogster, Netvibes, Wikia and Buzznet. Edgio has had well documented troubles but has been trying to make a correction to its approach. The plot at Feedster fell apart and it also is looking to rebound. It would seem to be too soon to say how these portfolio companies are faring: Socliazr, Maya's Mom, Rapleaf, Brightroll, Loomia, Kaboodle and Mashery.
