BuddyTV Gets First $250K From Charles River Venture Loan

buddytv.png
We had profiled BuddyTV last September and concluded: "If this were Vegas, we'd put chips on BuddyTV." Today we learn that BuddyTV was one of the first startups to get funding from the Charles River Quick Start Seed Funding Program. CEO Andy Liu says that the $250K check came just 5-7 weeks after his first meeting with Charles River.

Seattle-based BuddyTV is a social network for coach potatoes. It coins the term TVj: staffers who comment, gossip, and lead the discussion of fans of favorite TV shows.

Founders Andy Liu and David Niu had sold their previous company, NetConversions, to aQuantive in 2004.
