Digital Home Chip Maker Merger: Entropic and RF Magic
Entropic Communications has acquired RF Magic. The two startups both sell chips for digital home entertainment technologies and face much bigger competitors like Broadcom and Intel. RF Magic sells tuners for satellite, cable and TV channel stacking switches a well as WiMax silicon.
