San Diego-based RoyaltyShare has raised $5M in Series B funding led by Trident Capital. RoyaltyShare also said that it is in discussions with potential strategic investors, and may raise additional funds as part of the round.

RoyaltyShare sells accounting services to record labels, music distributors and music publishers. So for example it recently rolled out integration of data from cell phone companies, which are now selling songs.

RoyaltyShare is led by Bob Cohn, a lawyer who previously founded eMusic and wrote a book on digital royalties.
