Napa's Inertia Gains More Funding For Wine eCommerce Platform

Inertia Beverage Group has raised $8M in a Series B financing led by Allegis Capital and Sid R. Bass Associates. Inertia sells a sales and marketing platform for wineries that want to go direct-to consumer or direct-to-trade wine sales online. The company currently claims 300 wineries as clients.

The online wine business has been ugly. From our vantage point a number of techs have been drawn by their personal interest in wine and were blinded by the daunting legal nature of selling spirits online. However, some laws have changed and companies like Inertia have made baby steps in the right direction.
