VCs Fall For Amazon Web Services

Amazon held an event in Seattle this week to educate startups on its Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2), and Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3). Part of the draw was to have founders meet with local VCs interested in investing in Amazon Web Services users. Indeed we have heard several VCs gush about how Amazon is giving startups a chance to reduce some major operating costs by as much as 10x, speeding development time because startups don't need to hire some techs that they needed in the past.
Not only had Amazon's stock made its best two ran in years - perhaps ever - but the event was sold out. Amazon is on a tear.
