Zillow Competitor Reply.com Raises $6M

San Ramon's Reply.com has raised $6M in Series B funding from Outlook Ventures with return backer Scale Venture Partners.
Reply.com competes with Zillow in that it allows users to search for homes and see instant valuations in the area. Further, users can place unsolicated bids on homes via Reply.com (the company charges $10-$25 for bid representation.) The bids are sent via priority mail. One real estate industry watcher notes that this could be an interesting service for the bottom feeders that are looking to buy tear-downs and foreclosed properties.
Will Reply.com's real estate service become a phenomenon like Zillow? We don't see too much to separate the two services, but we can imagine people checking Zillow then checking Reply.com for a second opinion.
Reply.com also has a car and truck valuation and bidding system. In fact it bought iMotors.
The company is led by Payam Zamani who was co-founder and CEO of Autoweb.com (now a part of Autobytel.com).

Reply.com also has a house rating service. Zillow doesn't have this, but the database of reviews seems empty at this point.
