AOL Buys Mobile Ad Network Third Screen Media

Now that it operates Advertising.com and Third Screen Media, it may be time to start thinking of AOL less as a has-been ISP and more as one of the top ad networks. Third Screen recently announced that as of Q1 2007 it represented 185 publishers and served more than 225 million monthly ad impressions. No word yet on how much AOL paid, but given the small number of mobile ad networks available on the market, we expect AOL had to sweat while writing the check.
