Chick Gamer Biz PlayFirst Posts $5M In Revs

Last week, we posted that casual game site Big Fish Games is swimming in $24M in revenues. Big Fish may be the top causal games venture but others like PlayFirst are also enjoying growth.
San Francisco-based PlayFirst tripled revenues in 2006 to $5M, up from $1.3M in 2005, although it is still not profitable (it has to pay 70 employees). The startup raised funding from Mayfield, Trinity and Rustic Canyon. To get there the company is considering in-game ads, product placements and film/TV licensing.
